Parkland Hall looking for extra hockey skates
Members of the Prince Albert Grand Council (PAGC) hope anyone with extra hockey skates will consider donating them to the organization.
PAGC’s sports, culture and recreation coordinator Korey Diehl said donations are accepted at Parkland Hall after 1 p.m. and the PAGC’s Urban Services building on Central Avenue.
Diehl said the initiative is to help kids enjoy the outdoor rink since the organization took over Parkland Hall. He said many have come out to the rink for a skate.
Since taking over ownership and running of Parkland Hall Diehl said they hired three caretakers to help keep the facility going. Diehl added along with donations, PAGC is currently looking at trying to get some grants as well fundraising dollars to improve the hall. The long-term plan is to turn the building into a youth drop-in centre.
