Best Physiotherapy Clinic: Hillside Physical Health & Fitness

Jan 16, 2020 | 9:29 AM

The road to recovery following an injury can be a difficult one, but the physiotherapists from Hillside Physical Health & Fitness can help you navigate that journey.  All of our physical therapists are experts in the field of injury recovery; no matter if the injury is due to a car accident, a work related incident or a simple slip or strain at home or in sports.

When you first come to Hillside, our relaxed, professional staff will greet you.  A full assessment will be conducted to determine the nature of your injury and reach a diagnosis and treatment plan specific to you.  The right treatment will relieve your pain, correct your physical restrictions and minimize your time away from work, daily activities and recreation.  We will also work with you to find ways to prevent re-injury, letting you return to all the activities you chose.

Jill Strachan, BOB award winner for Best Physiotherapist assists in recovery from injury.

Our physiotherapists use many treatment techniques to speed healing and reduce pain including laser therapy, ultrasound, hands on tissue and joint mobilization and massage as well as dry needling, acupuncture and exercises.  We also are trained in brace fitting to support a joint or correct a deformity.  Exercise prescription is our specialty – exercises that you can do at home or in a gym to stretch, strengthen and restore function, continuing your treatment even outside of the clinic.

Sports safety and concussion management and treatment are also important to the Hillside team.  We are certified providers of the Shift Concussion Management program and work with many athletes and the general public to guide them to the best and safest resolution of their concussion symptoms, returning them to the their favourite activities.  We provide baseline concussion testing to the Prince Albert Minor Football players and the hockey players of the Prince Albert Minor Hockey league.  Being locally owned and operated, we give back to the community by donating our time to attend local sporting events to provide medical support on the sidelines for our young athletes.

For over 30 years, Hillside staff have treated, educated and empowered their clients to resume and continue active and healthy lifestyles.  The key to our success is the care we take with our patients to develop personal relationships and make sure our treatment will be the best approach for each and every patient’s recovery, treating the individual and not just one body part.
