The 70th edition of the Christmas Cheer Campaign is in the books.

Together, 900 CKBI and the Salvation Army were able to raise $4,795.

“This money will be used to help with the Christmas Program along with other needs that arise in the community in the way of practical help, whether it be shelter, food and clothing. [The money] also helps send kids to camp,” Lt. Matthew Reid, Corps Officer with the Prince Albert Salvation Army, said. “This money will be put to good use.”

Reid expressed his gratitude for the radio station and the benefits of having them as an ally.

“Having key partners in the community such as 900 CKBI for 70 years is something we’re very proud of. That they would choose to partner with us for that long, we value what they bring to the table,” he explained.

Jim Pattison Broadcast Group’s Group Program Director Danny Kid said it’s important to keep community links strong.

“CKBI and the community have such a long-lasting relationship. How could we not do everything we can to make sure people in need have a Christmas this year? We are so thankful for all the Salvation Army does and how they include us,” Kid noted.

Kid made special thanks to the all the donors this year and all the different organizations who help those less fortunate during the holiday season.

Matthew Reid noted if people still would like to donate, their Christmas kettles are still set up at various Prince Albert businesses for the eight more days.
