Mintos sweep the Maulers

Dec 15, 2019 | 4:16 PM

The Prince Albert Mintos completed the sweep this weekend over the Yorkton Maulers with a decisive 5-1 victory on Sunday at the Art Hauser Centre. That came after a close 3-2 overtime victory on Saturday.

With the pair of wins, the Mintos have won four of their last five games and are 17-10-1 on the season.

The Mintos were still without their big guns, as Chase Friedt-Mohr (Spokane Chiefs) and Chase Bertholet (Winnipeg ICE) are up with their WHL teams. Cooper Chisholm (ankle), Spencer Welke (knee) and Dawson Brace (shoulder) are all still sidelined like they were on Saturday. But the Mintos were able to get some reinforcements to the game this time, calling up Travis Swanson, Kade Beaton and Nicolas Jensen. Swanson, who was called up from the Prince Albert Midget AA Dairy Queen Chill, had a pair of assists in the contest.

Ty Bahm had a pair of goals in the contest. Dallyn Peekeekoot had a goal and an assist. Turner McMillen and Kody Willick also scored for the Mintos. Joel Favreau made 17 saves on 18 shots. Connor Hvidston scored the lone goal for Yorkton.
