Escaped minimum security prisoner

Prince Albert police are advising the public about a man who escaped from the Prince Albert Minimum Security unit at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary.

Police describe James Fred Katsiris, 36, as a caucasian man, 5’10, approximately 168 lbs. He has a medium complexion, blue eyes and brown hair.

Correctional Service Canada said Katsiris was not accounted for following an evening count at the minimum security unit Sunday night.

He is currently serving a sentence of just over two years for offenses related to drug and property crime.

Katsiris is not considered a danger to the public.
