Sep 27, 2019 | 1:41 PM

An 18-year-old female was taken to hospital Thursday night with severe head injuries following an alleged assault with a firearm.

According to a media release from the Prince Albert Police Service, the woman’s injuries were not from a gunshot wound after they investigated the situation, even though one shot had apparently been fired during the incident.

At 9 p.m. the police received a complaint that a woman was assaulted with a firearm and responded to the 300 Block of 20th St. E.

Febee the police service dog led the quest for the 20-year-old man. The police arrested him at the 400 Block of 23rd St. E . The suspect is now facing charges of aggravated assault, breach of court order, uttering threats, and numerous firearm charges associated with the incident.

The police later found the firearm in a garbage bin in the same area.

Chandler Laliberte appeared in court this morning and will return Sept.30.
