RCMP investigating after man shot in rural area

Sep 12, 2019 | 11:19 AM

Prince Albert RCMP members are investigating after one man was shot in the early morning hours yesterday.

Police were dispatched after a man called 911 at 4:45 a.m. asking for assistance in a rural area off Highway 2 and 15th Street NW. in the Rural Municipality of Buckland.

Shortly after RCMP and Prince Albert EMS arrived, paramedics transported the man to hospital in stable condition.

Investigators don’t believe the shooting to be a random incident and believe there is no risk to the public.

Mounties are looking for any information from anyone who travelled in the area early Wednesday morning and may have noticed suspicious activity or unusual items in the area.

If you have any information, you are urged to contact Prince Albert RCMP at 306-765-5500 or Saskatchewan RCMP at 306-310-7267. If you want to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The investigation remains ongoing.
