Police seize gun, arrest two in Pelican Narrows

Sep 10, 2019 | 2:34 PM

Pelican Narrows have arrested two men after responding to a disturbance at a home that involved a firearm.

The incident occurred last week on Sept. 6 around 1 a.m. Upon arriving at the home, officers were told the people involved in the incident had left the scene.

Mounties found it a short distance away and stopped the driver from fleeing by boxing the vehicle in with two police cruisers. Of the five people in the vehicle, two men got out and fled before they were arrested.

Officers located a prohibited firearm and a small amount of liquor in the vehicle.

Keiston Robin Custer was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, careless storage of a weapon, pointing a firearm without lawful excuse and resisting arrest.

Ovide Issac Michel was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and committing an indictable offence with a firearm.

Both are being held in custody and are set to appear in Pelican Narrows Provincial Court today.
