‘When he was running to the door, they shot him,’ shooting witness claims

Aug 27, 2019 | 5:01 PM

A woman living in Prince Albert’s East Hill neighbourhood claims two strange men carrying guns came to her house Monday evening and shot her partner.

The woman who appeared visibly shaken by what happened, requested paNOW not publish her name. She said the men tried to rob her.

“When [her partner] was running to the door, they shot him in the back and in the leg,” she said.

The woman said she did not know the men who quickly fled, but recalled one of the men had a tattoo on his face with the word “2019.” Parkland Ambulance confirmed paramedics cared for a 52-year-old man with “serious” injuries and he was listed in stable condition at Victoria Hospital.

“When the bullet went in, it broke this bone,” the woman said, pointing to her left upper leg.

The Prince Albert Police Service has confirmed officers are investigating a shooting incident that happened around 5:30 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of 19th St. E. They have not confirmed the woman’s claims.
