For the second time in three years, the Cooke Municipal Golf Course will send a scramble team to the RBC PGA Scramble national championships.

Darcy Rask, Dylan Smith, Brendon Canaday, Devin Dicus and PGA of Canada Professional Darcy Myers will represent Cooke at the RBC PGA of Canada Scramble National Final at Cabot Links Golf Course in Inverness, N.S. on Oct. 5 to 9.

The P.A. team punched their ticket and finished first out of a 15-team pool at the regional finals in the Elmwood Golf Club in Swift Current on Monday. They finished with a total net score of 47.7 and a to par net rating of -24.3.

“We are all pretty average golfers, hit the ball in both directions. A couple years ago, we decided this would be fun” Smith said in a statement. “It worked out nice with the handicaps and Cabot is a great prize.”

Now, the P.A. five-some returns to the national stage after doing so in 2017, and take on the best groups the country has to offer.

“Just the chance to get out there and play a course like (Cabot Links) is incredible.” Dicus said in a statement. “It’s just incredible to golf with your buddies.”
