Seven people sent to hospital, following weekend house fire

A house fire Saturday night in the Rural Municipality (R.M.) of Paddockwood, was accidental according to the fire chief for the Lakeland and District Fire Department.

Chris McShannock told paNOW there was extensive damage to the house. Seven people were transported by ambulance to hospital.

Parkland Ambulance staff said none of the injuries were life threatening and all the patients were listed in good and stable condition.

According to the Lakeland and District Fire Department Facebook page, dispatchers received the initial call about the fire at 8:15 p.m. When crews arrived on scene, they entered the house, quickly knocked the down the fire, and checked for occupants of the building. Crews remained on scene for several hours.
