The Prince Albert Whiskey Jacks won’t have a chance to defend their provincial senior men’s rugby championship.

The Whiskey Jacks fell 45-10 to the Saskatoon Gophers on Saturday in the semifinal contest, finishing one win away from the gold medal game.

The match was close to start but the Whiskey Jacks fell into penalty trouble, opening the door for the Gophers to get points on the board in the first half, and were never able to recover.

The Whiskey Jacks had a 1-3 record in the regular season, but beat the Kradgers 45-17 to advance to the semis.
