PAGC set for annual golf bonanza
Prince Albert plays host to what organizers say is among the biggest events of its kind anywhere in the province this weekend with the 34th edition of the PAGC Open Golf Tournament. As many as 250 players will tee-up at Cooke Municipal Golf Course over three days for an annual occasion that is also seen as a big economic boost for the city.
One of the organizers said it quite the logistical challenge to get it all happening.
“We have two flights of players a day, at 7 a.m. and then 1 p.m. [Saturday and Sunday],” Loren Sproat told paNOW. “And we have players from the U.S., Alberta, Manitoba, and across Saskatchewan.”
Sproat said hotels across the city would be filled for the event that is co-sponsored by the Northern Lights Casino and Northern Lights Community Development Corporation.
