National Archery Championships underway in Prince Albert
The scene has been set in Prince Albert as the 2019 Canadian National Archery Championships get underway just outside of the city. Competitors were getting their eye in and getting into their stride Friday.
The event, which will feature more than 200 competitors across numerous competitions, will run until Aug 11. According to Prince Albert based Timberland Bowbenders President John Cannon, the event has been four years in the making.
“Today we are doing registration for all the athletes. So, everyone is coming in to register for the 3D event that takes place from today until August 5,” Cannon said.
“We started discussing trying to host this event when we were in Ontario in 2015 for nationals. It’s very relieving that we are starting. It’s going to be great and we’re just ready to go.”
