Sleeping with sawed-off rifle report leads to arrest: Police

A man sleeping with a gun and two break and enter suspects were arrested yesterday evening in relation to separate police investigations.

Police were called to a home on the 1500 block of 15th Street East for a report of a man sleeping with a sawed-off rifle. Police arrived at the home around 9:30 p.m. and arrested a man in the basement.

A loaded sawed-off rifle was located.

Kelsey Stewart was charged with breaching a court order and was scheduled to appear in court this morning.

Break and Enter

A man and woman were arrested around the same time in an unrelated break and enter investigation.

The duo were spotted going into a vacant building in the 2100 block of Fifth Avenue West. Officers on patrol arrived within minutes after the suspicious activity was reported.

A 16-year-old girl and 19-year-old man were both arrested and charged with break and enter.
