As if a heat warning weren’t enough to contend with, Mother Nature is throwing another monkey wrench into the works.

As of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Environment Canada issued a warning of potential thunderstorms in the communities of Prince Albert, Shellbrook, Duck Lake, Spiritwood and their surrounding rurals.

According to Environment Canada’s website conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, large hail and torrential rain.

“Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads,” the website stated.
