Saskatchewan’s Flora Bora listed as one of coolest places to camp in Canada

An Emma Lake area business has been listed as a ‘must’ for Canadian campers.

Chatelaine Magazine recently published an article titled, ‘The Coolest Places to Go Camping In Canada,’ Flora Bora was one of 18 destinations that made the cut.

“Of course it’s a big honour because there are some really nice places on the list,” Flora Bora Owner, Karen Wasylyk said. “It was very nice, I really appreciate it.”

Wasylyk’s business highlights the growing trend of glamping. Glamping is a type of camping where campers have access to some of the important amenities while still getting a full taste of the outdoors.

Flora Bora features three unique yurts, traditional round tents, with a twist. The yurts include a washroom, bed, and kitchenette which allow campers or ‘glampers,’ the opportunity to be imbedded in nature while in comfort.

“They’re situated on 30 acres of forest overlooking a small lake. We’re right in the Emma Lake, Christopher Lake area and we’re close to the National Park with all the hiking there. It’s a great place just to set up camp and relax or explore this beautiful area,” she explained.

Wasylyk explained that the relaxed accommodations with all the amenities, opens the doors for people to feel comfortable while camping.

“Some people aren’t interest in crawling out of their tent in the middle of the night to walk somewhere to use the washroom. It’s just more luxury for those individuals,” she said.

“I don’t think people say ‘no’ to more luxury in their life,” Wasylyk told paNOW. “My main goal is for people to have great holidays and when people say it’s the best holiday they’ve ever had as a family or a couple, it really makes my day.”
