Neighbourhood welcomes new play area
A Prince Albert neighbourhood has a new playground thanks to a collaborative effort involving the city and a community group.
Friday afternoon the new facility, which is on Muzzy Drive between Damour Terrace and Kernaghan Crescent was officially opened. In total the new playground cost $114,000 to build with the Crescent Acres Community Club contributing $10,000.
City of Prince Albert Parks Manager Tim Yeaman said those who worked on the project appreciate the chance to work with community organizations to make projects happen and hopes to see similar efforts in the future.
“It’s with partnerships like [this], that we have an opportunity to expand what we do and just increase our awareness in the community, we know there is a need in the community for playground space,” he said.
