Fourteen passengers taken to hospital after two vans collide outside Shellbrook

UPDATE:

In a media release Friday evening Parkland Ambulance said they and paramedics from Spiritwood and Big River Ambulance Services responded to the incident and the eight people taken to Shellbrook Hospital had been released. And additional six people were seen by paramedics at the scene and were not taken to hospital.

Police are reporting multiple injuries after two passenger vans collided north of Shellbrook this afternoon.

Fourteen occupants were in both vehicles at the time of the collision. Five are in serious but stable condition and six others were treated for minor injures at the Shellbrook Hospital. Police say all passengers were taken to hospital.

Several first responders attended the scene including, Ahtahkakoop RCMP, Shellbrook and Blaine Lake RCMP, CTSS, Shellbrook Fire Department, and Parkland and Spirtwood EMS.

The Ahtahkakoop and Shellbrook RCMP continue to investigate the crash.
