The Prince Albert Raiders have announced a new director of player personnel.

Curt Brownlee moves into the role after spending the last eight seasons as a scout for the team.

“I want to express my gratitude towards Curtis Hunt for giving me the opportunity to work with this historical and esteemed organization,” Brownlee said in a release. “It is humbling and a true honour to accept this position.

“After seeing the enthusiasm and zeal in the community last season and throughout the playoffs, I have been motivated and inspired to bring quality players to Prince Albert that will have a great sense of pride to be part of this organization and community.”

As a scout for the team since the 2011-2012 season, Brownlee worked under Dale Kerkatch and Ron Gunville.

“As scouts, we are a team within a team. Ron Gunville and Dale Derkatch have accumulated an excellent group of scouts who are highly passionate, driven, and dedicated to bringing a consistently winning team to Prince Albert.

“Having spent six years working with ‘Gunner,’ I know the impact he had on the team and community. It is a high priority for me that his legacy lives on and I’ll do my best to exemplify his standards in all aspects of life.”
