Monique Zwack has some tough decisions ahead. Mainly, how to spend $4,000.

The Prince Albert woman was this year’s winner of the Optimist Club’s travel voucher raffle sponsored by Lobstick Travel. Zwack had her choice between a $5,000 travel voucher or the cash option.

Optimist Raffle Chair John Truba said all of the money raised from the raffle goes back into the community.

“We try to target youth activities and youth sponsored projects, but we also support community projects,” he said.

Recently, the Optimist Club of Prince Albert donated $14,000 to St. John’s Community School to purchase iPads for students.

“We’ve given Chromebooks for Wesmore school and we’ve done a lot of work on the school playgrounds throughout the city, Queen Mary for example,” Truba said.

With the exception of July and August, the Optimist Club of Prince Albert holds weekly supper meetings at the Optimist Centre. Truba said the organization has a roster of about 40, with 25 or so active members but they welcome new members any time.
