Annual P.A. Street Fair continues despite rain

Jun 15, 2019 | 11:52 AM

The annual Prince Albert Street Fair may have been dampened by a little rain, but that didn’t stop the event from carrying on business as usual throughout downtown P.A.

Dozens of booths, vendors, food trucks and family friendly activities were made available to the public, as well as several stages featuring live performances throughout the day.

Executive Director of the Prince Albert Downtown Association Carolyn Carleton said the only changes to the event was the closure of uncovered bouncy castles for the youth in attendance, but she added that several covered bouncy castles were still available.

“You know if we were in Vancouver this would be just a regular street fair, so as of right now we’re just kind of calling it a Vancouver street fair and carrying on with the day,” Carleton said.

“Rain or shine we are going to continue on. There are lots of people out enjoying the day, just with more umbrellas than usual. We have a lot to see and do and of course as usual lots of food trucks.”

Carleton noted that all three stages featuring live entertainment were sheltered from the rain meaning no major changes to the venues throughout the event.

“We hope everyone comes down as usual and supports the community event and takes the opportunity to see all the fun things we have.”

The street fair runs until 6 p.m. Saturday, with no charge for admission and open entry to the public.
