Schmalz elected Reeve

The Rural Municipality of Prince Albert has elected a former RCMP officer as their new Reeve.

Eric Schmalz emerged the victor from Wednesday’s by-election with 316 votes.

Doug Phelps was the runner up with 252 votes, followed by Paul Rybka with 133 votes.

Schmalz will be sworn in during the R.M.’s council meeting Thursday.
