Prisoner escapes correctional facility

Update: As of 9:30 a.m. on June 19, Randy Timothy Venne was located in La Ronge and has been returned to custody.

Police are looking for an inmate who escaped from a correctional facility on the weekend.

Pinehouse Lake RCMP was informed around 2 a.m. on Sunday that Randy Timothy Venne, 30, had escaped custody. Venne is suspected to have left Besnard Lake Correctional Facility at around 10:00 p.m. on Saturday. He was last seen on Highway 165 around 1:45 a.m.. Police believe Venne could be on his way to La Ronge.

Venne is described as a 5’6″ male with shaved brown hair and brown eyes. He is of average build, weighs approximately 170 lbs and possesses numerous tattoos.

Some of his tattoos include two tears under his left eye; the letters KV on his left cheek; stars on his right wrist; a diamond, a crown and the number 306 on his right hand; the word FAMILY on his left arm, the word KOBY on the inside of his right forearm; a cross with the numbers 89, 03 and 00 around it on the inside of his left forearm.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Randy Timothy Venne is asked to contact RCMP.
