Tim Hortons Camp Day a success in P.A.

Tim Hortons Camp Day has come and gone in Prince Albert.

The campaign, which runs across Canada, sees Tim Hortons donate the proceeds from all coffee sold to send deserving kids to camp for the summer.

Tiana Bonin, office manager for the franchises in P.A., said this year was a good one for the campaign.

“It was really successful, in coffee sales and donations … we made $13,800,” she said.

The amount raised this year was higher than that of last year. Bonin said all of the money raised by the local stores will be staying in the community.

“There will be eight kids from Prince Albert that will attend camp,” she said.

Bonin said it means a lot that locals come out to support the cause. She said this year support was received from the P.A. Raiders, who brought the Ed Chynoweth Cup out for a few hours and local musician Donne Parenteau, who played his guitar and helped serve coffee.

Last year across Canada over $13 million was raised to send kids to camp.
