DIY Sunscreen a Total No-No

May 29, 2019 | 9:06 AM

Even though I sell professional spa grade skincare products here in the skincare sanctuary, I do, admittedly, love me a little DIY skincare.

I’ve posted some of my favorite recipes for my fellow DIY skincare fans. A facial masque here, a hand exfoliation recipe there.

But I absolutely draw the line at DIY sunscreen.

Make your own sunscreen is an absolute NO.

Please don’t. The stakes are too high: premature aging, aun damage, cancer?

HARD PASS.

My fellow skincare product junkies, when it comes to sunscreen, SPEND THE MONEY. I implore you.

Products that you buy off of a shelf here in town are Health Canada approved.

This means ingredients have to pass inspection. They have been tested. Scientific and medical type people with incredible training and expertise and very expensive machines have verified efficacy.

Buy your sunscreen off a shelf. Your skin will reap the rewards. Your looks will pay dividends.

I know I’m coming on a little heavy-handed today.

It’s because I love your beautiful face.

Let’s keep it that way.

xo,

Cherise
