Minor injuries reported following concrete truck rollover

May 22, 2019 | 5:16 PM

The driver of a concrete truck is a very lucky man, according to a spokesperson for Parkland Ambulance.

Early Wednesday morning, the truck rolled into the ditch just off Highway 2 North, near Northside. Lyle Karasiuk said the driver, a 50-year-old man from out of province, suffered only minor injuries.

β€œHe is a long haul truck driver and a front tire blew on his truck. He crossed the highway so he missed all the traffic and they missed him,” he said.

There was no word where the loaded truck was headed. (Facebook/ Lakeland and District Fire Dept.)

Emergency services was dispatched to the scene shortly after 9 a.m. Buckland Fire and Rescue was assisted at the scene by the Lakeland Fire Department. Crews remained on scene for over two hours.
