Swing and a miss

Local teen extracted from baby swing

May 15, 2019 | 2:00 PM

You may have heard of a cat caught in a tree, but how about a teenager caught in a baby swing.

This happened Monday night at Prince Albert’s Kinsmen Park. The City’s Deputy Fire Chief Alex Paul told paNOW a group of teens at the park were playing when one thought they could fit into the baby swing.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they found the teen with their legs stuck in the baby swing. Firefighters were able to lift the teen up and out of the swing. With some bruises to the ego, there were no injuries to the teen or damages to the swing. Paul said incidents like this are rare.

“I am aware of one other instance where a teenager or older child got stuck in a sort of monkey bar type things that were designed for smaller children,” he said.

This is how the baby swing at Kinsmen Park is meant to be used. (Nigel Maxwell/paNOW Staff)
