Prince Albert Raiders celebrate victory under the northern lights

May 14, 2019 | 11:58 AM

Whether it was divine intervention or just good luck, Prince Albert Raider fans celebrated their teams’ championship victory underneath the Northern Lights.

Raider fan Changsub Kim wasn’t in the Art Hauser, but lives nearby. He was listening to the game at home and popped his head outside to take in the night air. That’s when he heard horns and cheers and noticed the lights.

“I looked at the sky and it was so wonderful,” Kim said. “I took out my camera and changed to a wider angle lens and then I asked my son, ‘come out, come out, let’s take a picture.”

Kim said the correlation between the green vista in the sky and celebrations taking place in the city were very fitting.

“We had a big victory. It was so awesome, it matched,” he said.

Kim added it was great for the city to get recognized in such a big way.

“Finally our city became a famous city in Canada,” Kim told paNOW. “We are so proud of our team.”
