A 3-1 series lead has been erased, and Raiders fans now face the reality the WHL championship could go either way.

On a night where many fans anticipated seeing the Raiders hoist the Ed Chynoweth Cup, the Vancouver Giants spoiled the party Sunday night by winning 4-2, forcing a Game 7. Ron Stewart was among the fans picking up tickets Monday morning at the Art Hauser Centre and told paNOW he isn’t nervous.

“It’s sort of anticipation of something we have never seen here before,” he said. “I think the boys are going to come out flying and we are going to win for sure.”

Jenna Bencharski was also picking up her tickets and offered some advice for the Raiders.

“I think they need to remember how they got that eight goals in Game 3, and pull that one out again,” she said.

Joe Bexson is a longtime season ticket holder and was at the WHL East Final in Winnipeg in 1996, when the Raiders lost out to the Brandon Wheat Kings. Bexson said he believes 2019 is the year of the Raiders.

“We are due and we just feel this is the team that can do it for us,” he said
