Fans give Raiders a warm welcome home

The Prince Albert Raiders were treated to a very warm welcome Saturday, as both the Raiders and Vancouver Giants made their way back to Prince Albert.

The Giants faced elimination in their last home game of the series, but were able to hang on to extend the series to at least Game 6 which will take place in Prince Albert on Sunday.

The Giants and Raiders shared a plane on the way back to P.A., after the Raiders suffered a 4-3 defeat in Game 5 of the series held at the Langley Events Centre.

Prince Albert currently leads the series 3-2. Game 7 will take place in Prince Albert on Monday, depending on the outcome of Sunday’s Game 6.

The winner of this series will advance to the four-team Memorial Cup national tournament, which will take place May 16 to 26 in Halifax.

Hundreds of fans lined the fences at the Prince Albert Airport to greet the Raiders as they returned, and droves of dedicated supporters began lining up for tickets to Sunday’s game as early as 11 p.m. Friday.
