Dragons scorch competition in Saskatoon

The 2019 rugby season is off to a great start for the Saskatchewan Rivers Dragons, after three lopsided wins in Saskatoon Thursday night.

The Dragons played a total of three – 15 minute games. In their first game, the Dragons beat the Krems 27-0. Elijah Mcpherson and Thayne Clarke had two tries each.

In the second game, the Dragons played the Badgers and won 29-5. Jonty Kruger had two tries. Austin Belair and Dante Doell had one try each, their first ever as members of the Dragons.

In the third game, the Dragons blasted the Wild Oats 36-5. Carter Wilson scored a try in his first game with the team. Elijiah Mcpherson and Byran Farrell had two tries each. Dante Doell also had one try.

The young Dragons team finished second at the Rowland Cup in Saskatoon last season. The team is back in action Saturday in Lashburn, and their opening home tournament has been scheduled for May 11 at Prime Minister’s Park.
