Fire near Holbein extinguished

A brush fire that broke out near Holbein earlier this week has been extinguished.

Recent rainfall helped put out the fire, which had been burning on both sides of Highway 3. The fire broke out Monday afternoon and reached a size of about 12 hectares, according to the Saskatchewan Ministry of the Environment.

No damage to property was reported due to the fire.

As of Friday, a number of fire bans remain in effect around the region.
