Raiders’ education fund seeing benefits from team’s impressive season
The continued success of the Prince Albert Raiders hockey club over the past season and into the playoffs has contributed to an increase in support for the team’s education fund as well, thanks to blockbuster sales of 50-50 tickets.
The Raiders continue to do well on the ice, while fans at the packed home games vie for a chance to take home some of the winnings off the ice. Money raised through 50-50 sales helps support post-secondary education for Raiders players.
Raider home games at the Art Hauser Centre have been taking home jackpots upwards of $10,000 in recent weeks, with some topping $15,000. Michael Scissons, business manager with the Prince Albert Raiders, said the team’s great stats have already generated more than $175,000 for the education fund.
