P.A. group accused of robbery back in court

Three of the four people accused in a string of robberies including in Prince Albert returned to court this week.

Dorion Loessel and Brandon Peeteetuce, the two 20-year-old males among the accused, appeared in Melfort Provincial Court on Tuesday, March 26. Both are charged with intent to commit armed robbery, disguise with intent, and breaching court orders. Peeteetuce was also charged with two counts of armed robbery.

Judge Lloyd Stang grated a three-week adjournment for defence lawyer Candace Bodnar and Crown prosecutor Thomas Healey to talk about a potential resolution for both of the accused.

Rikki Steinkey, 22, appeared in court again yesterday for a show cause hearing on her armed robbery, party to offence of robbery and breach charges. Crown prosecutor Wade Rogers submitted a bail verification report that determined Steinkey was not recommended for release. Judge Barry Singer opposed the release.

Tonisha Fulton, 23, was released on bail March 14. She is charged with armed robbery, party to offence of robbery, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The charges stem from incidents on March 4 when the group allegedly robbed a Prince Albert gas station with a firearm, then travelled to Jansen and Spalding where the group is alleged to have attempted further robberies. All were arrested south of Ivermay.

Fulton and Steinkey will appear in Melfort Provincial Court on April 9 for defence election and plea, while Loessel and Peeteetuce will do the same on April 16.
