Mar 25, 2019 | 4:29 PM

The Prince Albert Police Service has now confirmed a 29-year-old man is charged with second degree murder in connection to a 21-month-old child’s death last week.

The accused is scheduled to make his first court appearance Tuesday morning at Prince Albert Provincial Court.

Last Wednesday, police responded to the Rivercrest apartment building, after receiving a report of an unconscious child. The child was transported to hospital and later died.

The autopsy was conducted March 21 but the cause of death has not been released. Members from the Prince Albert Police Service Criminal Investigations Division and Forensic Identification Section are actively investigating this incident, and will be working with the Office of the Chief Coroner.
