Swimmers with the Prince Albert Sharks Swim Club continue to excel.

Three swimmers from the club qualified for the Prairie Swimming Championships, which were held March 15-17 in Regina, and all three earned results in the top 10 for the province.

“There were fantastic results from the Sharks swimmers in the Prairie Swimming Championships last weekend,” said head coach Hazem Hussein. “It’s the second swim championship back-to-back with huge success. “

“Last week, the swimmers went to the Junior Provincial Championship and achieved 27 medals from every color : twelve gold, six silver and nine bronze — and this weekend they went to the Prairie Long-Course Championship and they achieved another ten medals: four silver and six bronze.”

Liam Murphy won two silver medals, five bronze and achieved personal best times in six events.

Sophie Bilodeau won two silver and one bronze.

Camryn Cooling ranked top eight in the 1500-metre freestyle.

“All of the swimmers have worked hard in training in the build-up to this year’s competition,” said Hussein. “The results they have achieved are down to their dedication and hard work.We are pleased with our swimmers’ results and performance.”

The Prince Albert Sharks Swim Club offers a variety of programs to meet youths’ potentials and ambitions both at the competitive and non-competitive level.
