Canadian figure skaters looking to reach new heights at world championships
Nam Nguyen, Alaine Chartrand and Kirsten Moore-Towers and Michael Marinaro all have bad-luck stories they’d like to rewrite at this week’s world figure skating championships.
Nguyen hasn’t qualified for the free skate at the worlds since 2015. Chartrand hasn’t earned a spot in the world championships since 2016. Moore-Towers and Marinaro were unable to train in the weeks between last year’s Olympics and world championships after Moore-Towers suffered an ankle injury.
Canada’s team is hoping for better luck this week in Saitama, Japan.
