Exhibition centre hosts annual women’s trade show and sale

The Prince Albert Exhibition Centre is playing host to a trade show geared toward women this weekend.

The Focus on Women trade show and sale opened Saturday and runs until Sunday evening. Speaking to paNOW, Huseyien Gumus, general manager of the exhibition centre, said the event continues to be a popular draw.

“This year, we did little changes on the vendors list and all the rest of it and it turned out quite good,” he said.

The trade show filled up two rooms at the exhibition centre, and Gumus estimated there were 76 different vendors taking part in the show. Vendors offered a variety of items ranging from food, home decor products and security systems.

While the majority of vendors were from the local area, there were some who came from out of province. Gumus added organizers tried to make sure the show offered a variety of items.

“We try to make it and accommodate everything and anything,” he said.

While there is still another full day to go, Gumus said he was happy with the number of people who had turned out already and the enthusiasm they had seen.

“We had huge interest this morning as soon as we opened the door this morning, people started flowing in,” he said.

Going forward, Gumus explained they are hoping to have the show better cater to people. In order to do this, they are asking people who come through the doors to help them out.

“We are giving comments documents … we’d like to hear from the visitors and the public,” he said.

Gumus said they have some small changes they may want to put in place in the future already, but that what they hear from the people who come through the doors will be important going forward.

“I’ll rely on heavily the feedback that comes from the public,” he said.

The Focus on Women trade show and sale runs until 5 p.m. Sunday.
