Prince Albert’s E.A. Rawlinson Centre for the Arts is up for some recognition.

On Friday, the City of Prince Albert announced the local venue has been named as a finalist for Venue of the Year for the Saskatchewan Country Music Awards.

In 2018, the Rawlinson Centre hosted the SCMA Awards, along with a number of local and regional country music performers. These performers included Gord Bamford, Brett Kissel, Kip Moore, Aaron Goodvin, Taw Conners, Nice Horse and The Washboard Union.

P.A. also has representation in other SCMA awards categories, with LJ Tyson being up for Male Artist of the Year and Video of the Year. Larry Krause is nominated for both Roots Artist and Group of the Year Award, while 900 CKBI is up for Radio Station of the Year in a major market.

Country at the Creek and Ness Creek Music and Arts Festival near Big River have been nominated for Music Festival of the Year.

The hardware is set to be handed out April 12 to 14 in Saskatoon as part of the SCMA’s Annual Awards and Weekend Country Music Festival.
