RCMP make arrest in manslaughter case

Following two weeks of investigation by the RCMP’s Major Crime Unit North, Flora Marie Ratt from Pinehouse Lake, Sask., was arrested and charged with manslaughter, in relation to the death of Lloyd Dennis Misponas also from Pinehouse Lake, Sask.

Misponas and Ratt were in a domestic relationship at the time of his death.

This comes after RCMP were called to a dispute at a residence in Pinehouse at approximately 12:15 p.m. March 5.

Prior to RCMP’s arrival at the scene, a second call came into the RCMP reporting a nurse, who had attended that same residence to assist an injured man, also needed assistance.

RCMP arrived at the scene and transported the injured man to the local health centre, where the man later died.

Ratt appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court this morning.
