Pinehouse Lake RCMP seize drugs, Taser device

Pinehouse Lake RCMP members made a large drug bust after a traffic stop on March 8.

The investigation began after a traffic stop on an individual driving a quad. The man was issued a screening device test, which he failed. He was then arrested for impaired driving.

Police also seized 33.3 grams of crack cocaine and 15.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Officers also seized a Taser disguised as a cellphone, cash and a scale.

John Pederson was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, impaired operation of a motor vehicle, proceeds of crime and weapon charges.

He was remanded and is scheduled to appear at Pinehouse Lake Court on Wednesday, April 10.
