Cold chase

Chase suspects appear before a judge

Mar 14, 2019 | 11:57 AM

The two people arrested in connection to a police chase south of Prince Albert Tuesday, have made their first court appearances.

Tyler J.G. Steele, 32, and Shawna Lee Brazeau, 26, face a number of charges including assaulting a peace officer, possession of stolen property, and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.

When attempts were made to stop the stolen truck on Highway 11, the driver of the truck would ram the front end of a police vehicle and speed off.

With the help of the Saskatoon Police Air Support Unit, the truck was later found on a farm property in the Duck Lake area. The driver and his passenger were in the process of stealing another vehicle when they were arrested.

During the investigation, police recovered a loaded .22 calibre rifle, which police later concluded had been tossed from the truck during the pursuit.

Both of the accused have been scheduled to appear in court again Wednesday at Prince Albert Provincial Court.
