Pair facing numerous charges after arrests made in La Ronge
Two individuals wanted on numerous unrelated drug and weapons charges from instances in Prince Albert and Stanley Mission have been arrested in La Ronge.
On March 9 at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of the La Ronge RCMP detachment and the RCMP’s Crime Reduction Team execute a search warrant at a residence in La Ronge. A man and a woman were both arrested and further investigation lead to the discovery of nine grams of suspected crack cocaine, a large sum of Canadian currency, a restricted firearm, ammunition, as well as several pieces of fraudulent identification.
Zakaria Albino Wani, 29, from the La Ronge district is facing 16 charges including careless storage of a firearm and ammunition, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of property obtained by crime over and under $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a restricted firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, trafficking a controlled substance, fail to comply with an undertaking, obstructing a police officer, personation, identity theft/fraud, possess ammunition and a firearm while prohibited.
