UPDATE: Armed robbery suspects appear in court

Mar 5, 2019 | 2:33 PM

Update: RCMP have now released the names of the four people charged in connection to a spree of armed robberies and attempted robberies this week involving businesses in Prince Albert, Jansen and Spalding.

Brandon Peeteetuce, Dorion Loessl, Rikki Steinkey and Tonisha Fulton have all made their first court appearances and have been remanded into custody. They are scheduled to make their next court appearance on Thursday at Melfort Provincial Court. The suspects, who range in age from 20 to 23, face a total of over 30 charges including armed robbery, possession of a prohibited weapon, and assault.

The hunt for four suspects wanted in connection to an armed robbery in Prince Albert and two other attempts elsewhere in the region came to an end late Tuesday morning when a stolen VW golf was discovered in Invermay.

The spree started at the Sixth Ave. Petro Canada 3:15 p.m. Monday when a sawed off rifle was used.

RCMP Cpl. Rob King said the suspects then targeted two other businesses later in the afternoon.

“They attempted to rob a business in Humboldt (Jansen) at around 5:15 p.m. but were unsuccessful,” King told paNOW.

In this case the business owner and staff saw the two males coming with covered faces and locked the doors. The culprits tried to force their way in but couldn’t and drove off to their next target. That was a business in Spalding just after 6 p.m.

King said the suspects were carrying a knife and the sawed off rifle and assaulted a male patron who tried to disarm them. There were other patrons and employees in the store at the time.

RCMP initially put out a notice telling the public about the stolen black VW hatchback but late Tuesday morning things came to a conclusion in Invermay.

“The vehicle was located; it was stuck in a grid road,” King said. “Several members responded to the scene and were able to take the four suspects into custody.”

King could not give further details Tuesday as charges had yet to be laid.
