P.A.Masters swimmer breaks record

The Prince Albert Sharks Swim Club are celebrating a special achievement from one of their own.

Masters swimmer Joy Friesen broke a record that had stood for twenty years, while also claiming gold in the various events she competed in at the RMSC meet held in Regina Saturday.

According to the club, she won the 400-metre and 800-metre freestyle, as well as the 50-metre and 200- metre backstroke events.

Friesen also broke the provincial record in the 25-metre backstroke, beating a mark that had stood for 20 years.

In a media release head coach Hazem congratulated Friesen.

“Joy has worked hard in training this season,” he said.” The results she has achieved are down to her dedication and hard work.”

The Prince Albert Sharks Swim club offers a variety of programs to meet swimmers potentials and ambitions not only on the competitive level but also on the non-competitive level.
