Sask Cross Country teams come up short on final day

Mar 3, 2019 | 12:29 PM

Both of Saskatchewan’s cross country teams finished off the podium in the mixed relay at the Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Saturday.

Saskatchewan Team A, which included Prince Albert’s Matt Gill, finished twelfth with an overall time of 1:16:14.50.

Meanwhile, Saskatchewan’s B team, which included P.A.’s Jessica Gill along with La Ronge’s Michio Green and Taylor Harrington, finished 17th with a total time of 1:28:19.00.

However, one local cross country ski competitor is bringing home some hardware as P.A.’s Kryztle Shewchuk earned three bronze medals at the games.

The games wrap up today.
