The Prince Albert Raiders will have a new player in the lineup on Wednesday night when they take on the Lethbridge Hurricanes at the Art Hauser Centre.

The team announced Tuesday morning that Evan Herman, a 16-year-old native of The Pas, Man. has signed a WHL Standard Player Agreement with the club and will make his Raider debut this week.

Herman was selected by Prince Albert in the third round, 64th overall in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft from the Rink Hockey Academy [RHA] in Winnipeg. This year, Herman skated with the RHA Prep program, producing 13 goals and 26 points in 30 games played. The 5’9″, 143 lbs. forward has also played in seven games with the OCN Blizzard of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, registering seven points in seven games.

In a press release, General Manager Curtis Hunt said Herman will bring an exciting playing style to the team.

“Evan will quickly become a fan-favourite in Prince Albert,” Hunt said. “He’s a tenacious player with great speed, has skill, and plays the game with an edge.”

Kelly suspended

The WHL has announced that Raider forward Parker Kelly has been suspended three games for a boarding major issued late in Saturday’s game against Brandon. Kelly will be eligible to play again next Tuesday against Swift Current.
