Robyn Silvernagle has moved on to the championship pool at the 2019 Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

Though she did not need a win in the late draw to secure her spot, the North Battleford-based rink triumphed over Charlottetown’s Suzanne Birt 7-3, finishing tied for second in her pool with a 5-2 record.

Team Saskatchewan opened the scoring once again with a double in the third end.

P.E.I. notched points in the fourth and seventh ends, but a single in the ninth and a pair in the tenth vaulted Silvernagle’s rink over the top.

The foursome’s next opponent is yet to be determined as the schedule cannot be set until a tiebreaker takes place between Team Manitoba and British Columbia at 7:30 a.m.

Elsewhere in Sydney, N.S. , Team New Brunswick edged Newfoundland and Labrador 10-5 in eight ends, Casey Scheidegger’s Wild Card rink from Lethbridge trumped Team Canada and Jennifer Jones 7-4, and the team from Whitehorse landed their first win of the championship in nine ends over Team Northwest Territories 13-6.
