Notch another win for Robyn Silvernagle at the 2019 Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

Team Saskatchewan cruised to an 8-4 win over Team Newfoundland and Labrador Tuesday afternoon in Sydney, N.S.

After two blank opening ends, Silvernagle’s rink opened up a five-point lead, putting up four unanswered points in the third and a single in the fourth.

Despite a double from Newfoundland and Labrador in the fifth, the Saskies answered back in the seventh. A single in the ninth lead to handshakes from Michelle Jewer’s rink.

With the win, the North Battleford-based rink moves to 3-2 at the championship.

Next up in Pool B is a pair of Wednesday games against the Yukon (0-5) at 7:30 a.m. and Prince Edward Island (4-1) at 5:30 p.m.

Silvernagle split both of her Monday contests by handing Casey Scheidegger and the rest of the wildcards from Lethbridge their first defeat of the tournament 8-6, before losing to Kerry Galusha and the Northwest Territories 9-4.

Elsewhere on the ice, Jennifer Jones and Team Canada survived a scare to improve to 3-and-2 at the Canadian women’s curling championship.

Jones was up 7-1 over Yukon, but Nicole Baldwin’s Whitehorse rink mounted a spirited comeback before losing 9-7.

Team Prince Edward Island edged a high scoring extra end win over New Brunswick 13-12. The Northwest Territories fell to the Wild Card rink from Lethbridge 6-5.
